Where do we turn when everywhere we look there is suffering and injustice? How do we make sense of a world that sometimes seems so out of control? God invites Habakkuk too ‘look and see’, finding not the evidence of God’s absence, but instead an invitation to discover a God who is at work even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
Habakkuk - The Language of Lament
Habakkuk - Habakkuk is a journey that takes us from sorrow to singing, pain to praise, desperation to declaration and
from faithless surroundings to faith filled living. This journey begins with the ‘language of lament’. A language that aids our travels through a broken world and that allows us to meet with God in the midst of the journey.
The Fear of The Lord
As believers, it is vital for us to have a deep sense of awe and reverence for God. The importance of the fear of the Lord can be clearly seen all throughout Scripture and David’s prayer in 1 Chronicles 29:10-13 paints a wonderful picture of a life lived in reverence, and one submitted to the Lordship and authority of God. In our lives today, there is a call for right revelation of who God is, there is a call for re-calibration of our hearts, and there is a holy invitation into more of the Lord. When the fear of the Lord has its proper place in our lives the Lord will have His rightful place.
